Mr. Batey serves as a Research Analyst in the Office of Institutional Research.  He is responsible for completing federal reports, writing statistical programs (SPSS), developing interactive web surveys utilizing perl script, gathering and analyzing data necessary for policy development, and answering university surveys.

Mr. Batey received a Master of Public Affairs from  the University of Texas at Austin's LBJ School of Public Affairs in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas State University (SWT) in 1981.  

Mr. Batey came to work at Texas State University in August, 1999.  Previously he was a teacher, rancher, and businessman.   Mr. Batey is a member of the Texas Association for Institutional Researchers. Mr. Batey served on the Texas State Student Affairs Assessment Team for five years.  Issues of interest include policy affecting agriculture and education.
